The Opera Naples Teen Summer Performing Camp, in its third season, has announced that its 2010 performance will be the operetta “H.M.S. Pinafore.” With nine days of hard work and practice, anyone between the ages of 12-21 can be a part, according to Opera Naples general/artistic director Steffanie Pearce.

Jersey Boys set records, but did Barbara B. Mann hall make a huge profit?
On March 1, the Barbara B. Mann Performing Arts Hall sent out the press release equivalent of screaming from the rooftops. “Jersey Boys Sets new BO records at the Mann Hall!” the subject line read. In all respects, it seemed like a major financial coup for the hall. But a closer look at the economics of touring Broadway shows reveals that the blockbuster box office numbers don’t necessarily equal big bucks.

Party in paradise: City Fest hopes to draw new visitors, old friends into two weeks of Naples events
The weather is perfect. The mornings are cool. It’s just the right weekend for a trip to Naples. The city of Naples hopes that introspection wafts through the Southeastern United States like a zephyr through cornstalks — and that it brings longing visitors to its paradise on the Gulf this month.
