Collier begins enforcing law against dog-chaining starting Saturday

Chaining or tethering dogs outside without owner supervision is now illegal in Collier County, a result of an ordinance passed in late January by the Collier County Commission. The ordinance requires an owner to be outside and able to see a dog while it’s tethered and regulates the type of collar, as well as the weight and length of the tether. State may allow Collier to tax property to create $31 million program to help kids
